Blessing Guerra is a 27 year old Mexican artist from Imperial Valley, Southern California. She currently resides and is based in Denver. Her work takes inspiration from the nostalgia of Saturday morning cartoons, growing up listening to the Gorillaz, and her love for film and animation. Blessing’s work blends childlike curiosity, emotions, and navigating trauma by creating characters that convey a range of emotions and experiences, especially experiences with anxiety, depression and PTSD. She often uses herself as personal reference for characters, as her work is also a reimagining of herself and mirror of her personal experiences and traumas. She recently has started working with beaded jewelry and spray paint / mural work and looks forward to exploring more mediums outside of painting.
