It all started 11 years ago my father had gifted me my first camera; at the time I was an aspiring model, planned to move to LA after graduation the following year. My cousins and I used to come up with fun concepts/themes and shot portraits of one another. I believe that’s where the seeds were planted.
Of course modeling didn’t pan out but in return a passion for photography only developed more and more over the years. In 2017 I had upgraded my camera to a canon mark five and started to take it more seriously. From 2017 to now 2024 I have endured a lot of pain. Toxic relationships, lack of boundaries, lost direction, and lost a lot of weight from grief. The one thing that had stayed consistent is my undying love for photography and art. It is so much more than just taking great portraits for me.
It is my heart & soul, the only thing I could rely on, and something that kept me inspired through all the trauma. I take that as a sign to keep running with it, to consistently give my art effort & dedication even in the moments where I felt like my work wasn’t good enough, and to keep creating no matter what the outcome might be. I will gladly “waste” time, tears, and energy to make my dream of being a full time creative a reality no matter the time it takes to achieve.
with all my love,
VCR
